We have a variety of different committees that we need volunteers for.  We encourage you to get involved in events that interest you or fit your talents and schedule. There is something for everyone.

Cornwalk/Cornwalk Festival

We need volunteers to help with Cornwall's biggest fundraiser of the year, the Cornwalk, purchasing/distributing prizes, preparing the fundraising portal, and generating excitement! Additionally, volunteers will help plan and organize the festival which serves as the event's grand finale.

Cornwall Kids Garden

We are looking for parent volunteers to help the garden team facilitate various learning activities for students in grades 2-4. Activities and themes include: planting, garden cycles, pollinators, soil, composting, harvesting, and of course eating! We take classes outside to the garden in the fall and spring growing seasons. We also need volunteers to care for the garden over the summer- to help weed and water. No experience necessary!

Cornwall Elementary 5K

Chairperson: Dana Risser

The 5K committee works to secure sponsorships and all race day needs such as t-shirts, water, and of course marking. The committee will work to make sure that all participants  are welcomed and registered, making this a fun event that students and families look forward to while also raising crucial funds.​

Kick Off Breakfast

Chairperson: Emily Spingler

 

Coordinates a “Welcome Back to School” breakfast for teachers and staff prior to the start of the school day during the second week of school. Volunteers donate breakfast items and assist in setup and cleanup.

Holiday Shop

Chairperson: Brad Hardisty and Elizabeth Suramcz

The Holiday Shop is held each year to allow the children to independently select and purchase inexpensive gifts for their family and loved ones. Each child receives the individual attention of one of the volunteers who will guide the child to gifts that are within the child’s price range. The PTO needs many “parent elves” to help with this event. Volunteers are also needed to help with shopping for inventory, organizing inventorying executing the event.

Yearbook

Chairperson: Dana Risser and Liz Finch

​The yearbook committee documents the school year with photos and puts them together in yearbook fashion. Volunteers are needed to take photos in their child’s class and at events. We're specifically looking for a parent from each grade to take photos.

Family Skate Night

Chairperson: Dana Risser

This committee will coordinate two skating parties- one for K-2nd and one for 3rd-5th grades. Volunteers are needed to help plan and execute this event.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation

Chairperson: Liz Finch

​

Help do something special for our nurses, teachers, custodians, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and staff during their special days throughout the year. This is a fun committee that needs people to do at-home coordinating and some in-school organizing.

Teacher Conference Buffet

Chairperson: Emily Spingler

​

This committee will coordinate the special meal provided to the teachers and staff during the Fall parent-teacher conferences by making phone calls, organizing food donations, setting up, serving, and cleaning up.
